Getting Started

The first step in the process of submitting an online application is to create a user account. You will create a User ID and Password that is only used by this website.  Be sure to retain this information since this is what you will use to login to access your application.

Applications for Admission

The second step is to select the appropriate application form depending upon your enrollment intentions.  The Graduate School has two online application forms: one for students wishing to pursue a degree and one for students who do not plan on seeking a degree.  Please select the appropriate application below:

Students wishing to pursue a graduate degree at Clemson University should apply for admission using the Degree Seeking Application for admission.  In general, degree seeking applications should be received no later than 5 weeks prior to the first day of class.  However, some programs have earlier deadlines.  Degree seeking applicants are encouraged to contact academic departments for specific program application deadlines.

Admission in this category is restricted primarily to those who may benefit professionally from additional study at the graduate level.  For example, current primary, middle grades and secondary education teachers wising to gain recertification most commonly apply as Non-Degree Seeking students.  Regardless of the student’s reason for applying non-degree, in all cases the non-degree student must receive permission from the program coordinator or the department chair before enrolling in any graduate course.
Please note that if you have been previously enrolled at Clemson anytime in the past six years as a Non-Degree Student in the same area you wish to apply to, then you do NOT need to complete this application. Rather, you should complete the Re-Entrance form, which may be accessed online at http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/pdf/gradReEnroll.pdf

Manage Your Account

The third step allows you to start and save an application without submitting and manage your account information.  After logging into your account, you may complete portions of the application, save the work and then return at a later time to complete and submit the application.  Please note that until you actually submit the application and pay the application fee, no portion of your application is transmitted to The Graduate School.  For example, even if you complete the required fields for the letters of recommendation, no notification is forwarded to your recommenders soliciting a recommendation on your behalf until you complete and submit the application including payment of the application fee or use of an approved application fee waiver.
