MAPC Grad Wins Emmy

MAPC graduate Bobby Rettew,'03, won an Emmy Award at the 2007 Midsouth Emmy ceremony for his work last year at WCNC-TV in Charlotte, NC. Rettew's show 'Pain at the Pump' was honored in the News Specials category for the Nashville (Tenn.) Region of the National Academy for Television, Arts and Sciences.

'Pain at the Pump' was a 30-minute prime-time show dedicated to providing information and tips to consumers battling the rising cost of gas. Various segments of the show covered topics such as carpooling, public transportation, hybrid technology, and scams. The special broadcast aired during last fall's fuel price hike.

Rettew has worked at three television stations across the country and has won six regional Emmy Awards. He now works independently and for a company called Champion Communications in Greenville.
