Architecture

MArch

Major emphasis in the Master of Architecture is on design, accompanied by complementary coursework of a professional focus, as well as elective subjects. Complex studio design projects stress social awareness and contextual fit and are responsive to all aspects of the architectural process.

To qualify for this program, applicants must have an undergraduate degree in design and must be accepted into both programs. While a portfolio is required for admission review in architecture, it is not in planning. Admission in planning is based on GRE scores and undergraduate credentials.

MS

The Master of Science degree in Architecture is a postprofessional degree program which offers the opportunity to achieve advanced learning within the discipline of architecture and to undertake research responsive to increasingly complex challenges attendant to the built environment. This is accomplished through a foundation of coursework, accompanied by directed studies within a selected area, and followed by the critical examination of a singular aspect of architecture in a research thesis.

To qualify for this program, applicants must have an undergraduate degree in design and must be accepted into both programs. While a portfolio is required for admission review in architecture, it is not in planning. Admission in planning is based on GRE scores and undergraduate credentials.
