Entomology

MS, PhD

The entomology graduate program offers the MS and PhD degrees, both of which are research based degrees. The Entomology graduate programs are dedicated to providing leadership in environmental entomology. Research programs fall into four emphasis areas: arthropod biodiversity, agricultural entomology, genetics and biotechnology, and urban entomology.

Facilities of the South Carolina Experiment Station on campus and at four research and education centers located in various regions of the state are available for graduate student research. In addition to teaching and research laboratories, specialized facilities within the department include the Clemson University Arthropod Collection; laboratories for molecular genetics, tissue culture, and analytical chemistry/toxicology; wet laboratories; controlled and ambient temperature insect-rearing facilities; a free-flight butterfly facility; and greenhouses.
