Human Factors Psychology

PhD

The PhD program in Human Factor’s Psychology is designed to provide students with the requisite theoretical foundations, skills in quantitative techniques and research design, and practical problem-solving skills to address human problems related to work. The Human Factors program at Clemson University is fully accredited by the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society (HFES), an honor currently limited to just eight other programs in the country. Students in the program benefit from research training in Clemson’s Psychology laboratories funded by state, federal and industry sources.

Human Factors Psychology is an emerging field that concentrates on improving the safety, effectiveness, and ease of operation of new technologies. As a result, there is an increasing workforce demand for human factors professionals in industry, government, and higher education. Many students have had one or more job offers before the completion of their degrees.
