MS, PhD
Excellent opportunities for studying tropical terrestrial and agricultural ecosystems and the interface between these ecosystems are provided by the MS and PhD degree programs in Plant and Environmental Sciences. Both programs are offered through an intradepartmental program comprised of faculty from disciplines including biological sciences/botany, crop science, genetics, horticulture, plant pathology, plant physiology and soil science.
Courses of study are tailored to match the professional goals of each student. A dissertation based on original research is required for the PhD, and a thesis option is available for students in the MS program interested in research-related careers. A non-thesis option for the MS degree is also available for students planning a career in landscape design, extension, consulting, or other fields not related to research.
