MPA
The Departments of Political Science at both Clemson and the University of South Carolina have collaborated to offer the professional degree Master of Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate Program.* This program was designed to meet the demand for qualified professionals in public service, as well as private and nonprofit sectors. Degrees or certificates for this program are awarded by USC and Clemson jointly.
MPA Degree Program trains qualified students for careers in governmental services and related areas and enhances the background and skills of those already in the workforce. The program provides a fundamental grounding in the basic elements of public administration, while permitting sufficient flexibility for students to pursue special interests and skills The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration is an option for those individuals who wish to expand their education beyond the undergraduate level, but do not wish to engage in a full Masters degree program. The graduate certificate can be the first step toward a full Masters degree, as the credits earned are fully transferable.
*Courses for these programs are taught only at the University Center of Greenville.
